On to Breadloaf, home of the nationally recognized Breadloaf Writers Conference during the summer months.
Next? Middlebury Gap - crossing the famous Long Trail near the Middlebury Snow Bowl.
Last stop? Hancock, Vermont at the intersection of Routes 125 &100 - the other side of the Green Mountains!
Shoreham: Shoreham
is probably
best know for The
Fort Ti Ferry
which provides a historic seven-minute crossing on Lake Champlain between
Shoreham Vermont and Ticonderoga New York. This ferry has operated on Lake Champlain
[officially] since 1799,
and since 1759 on an unorganized basis. Take
a ride on the Ti!

Vergennes: Claimed to be the smallest city
in the U.S., Vergennes is caught in a time warp. It is both very old and
very new. An example being its Opera House. Long vacant, now vibrant!
Check out the history of the Vergennes
Opera House and it's current
schedule of events. Likewise, you'll find new names and faces on its
restaurants and shops. Park the car and take a look. You'll probably stay
awhile. Enjoy!

Brandon: Brandon is typical "Home Town
Vermont" - a great little community located on Route 7 between Rutland
and Middlebury. However, although it is not a typical tourist destination it
offers some very nice lodging and eateries.
You'll find many Middlebury College families staying here during Parent's
Weekend. Don't miss their July 4th Celebration!
What Else Is Of Interest In The Area? Mount
Independence, Branbury State
