Estimated Mileage: 57.6 Miles

Driving Instructions:

This drive begins at the Intersection of Routes 7A & 11/30 [known to locals as Malfunction Junction] in Manchester Center and borders the Green Mountain National Forest in its entirety. It should be noted that Manchester Village is approximately 1 mile south on Route 7A. Manchester (sometimes referred to as Manchester Village) and Manchester Center are as different as day and night. One is known for its mansions, golf courses, art center, and the like…the other for its renowned outlet stores.

Take Route 11/30 East toward Londonderry and Bromley Mountain. You will almost immediately begin climbing toward Bromley & Stratton Mountains.

Important! As you approach the Bromley Ski Area Route 30 splits from Route 11 and heads toward Stratton Mountain. Remain on Route 11 toward Peru & Londonderry. DO NOT take Route 30. Almost immediately after this Intersection you will enjoy spectacular views!

Continue on Route 11 into the town of Londonderry, and through this small village.

Route 100 North intersects with Route 11 in Londonderry. Take Route 100 North [Left Turn] heading toward Weston [Approx. 6 Miles North]

Weston is a major tourist destination, largely due to it being the home of the nationally famous Vermont Country Store, The Weston Playhouse, and the Weston Priory [A Benedictine Monastery]. The fact that it is a picture-book town doesn't hurt any either.

You'll probably want to spend some time in Weston. When leaving, continue to travel Route 100 North till it appears to become Route 155. These Routes actually intersect 4 miles outside of Weston. Route 100 continues via a sharp right turn toward Ludlow. Route 155 continues straight. You want to be on Route 155 continuing north. The foliage on this drive should not be any less than magnificent!

Continuing north on Route 155 you will arrive in East Wallingford, where Route 155 intersects with Route 140. Make a left turn on to Route 140 West [heading toward Wallingford. This, too, is a spectacular drive - right through the Green Mountain National Forest, and on to Wallingford.

You will come to the Intersection of Routes 140 & 7 [Great Italian Restaurant On The Corner - Sal's]. Turn left on to Route 7 South [heading toward Danby, Dorset and Manchester]. Great views of the eastern slopes of the Green Mountains as you get closer to Manchester. Note: At some point Route 7A will intersect with Route 7. You want to exit right - onto Route 7A [it is a more attractive drive], however, either will return you to Manchester. You are now at the end of our Scenic Drive #2 and on your own. Enjoy!
